Prayer Is Therapy

Life can be stressful and unpredictable. I always say the only thing that seems inevitable is uncertainty.

Unexpected changes, significant health setbacks, sudden deaths, routine shifts, job loss, a relapse, difficult decisions, and unknown futures often cause feelings of shock, anxiety, fear, stress, and uncertainty.

If Iā€™m being honest, no matter how much our heads know the truth, sometimes our hearts fail to catch up. We tend to forget that, as believers, we don't have to face them with fear. Instead, we can walk forward in faith and pray about everything, knowing God is in control.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Lean on him in prayer, when we surrender our worries to God, He gives us peace beyond understanding and the strength to move forward confidently.

Regardless of challenges, remember that God's plans are always greater than your fears. Trust Him; He will lead you exactly where you need to be. When your world feels uncertain, run to the primary source of stability and bring everything to Christ in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Prayer not only reduces stress but also regulates our emotions. In a world where mental health challenges are ever present, embracing prayer as a form of therapy can provide comfort, hope, and a renewed sense of purpose.
