Let God’s word be the loudest voice in your mind.

Anxiety can cloud our vision and leave us with no optimism. Facing life adversities, we can be tempted to listen to anxiety and let that speak a negative story over our lives, the story that says the danger is coming, the story that says you are not good enough, or you are never going to make it, or it's over for you this time, the story where you find yourselves feeling overwhelmed, weak, unsafe and fearful. Stories of defeat and failure

On the contrary, God’s word speaks a different story.  He says you're victorious, capable, valuable, and an overcomer, and so much more. He speaks life.  You will face difficulties, trials, and tribulations, which are inevitable, but amid the adversary, God tells a story that brings hope, comfort, and healing. Listen to what God says to the fearful, the worried, and the anxious.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then, you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 ( NLT)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Anxiety weighs down the heart of a man, but a good word cheers it up.

Proverbs 12:25 (SBS)

Say to those with anxious hearts: “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance. With divine retribution, He will come to save you.”

Isaiah 35:4 (SBS)

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34  (NIV)

You are not alone in your worries and your anxious thoughts. God is with you; furthermore, he wants you to live anxiety-free and have peace. He commands us, “ Do not be anxious about anything’’. I love  Philippians 4:6-7  , one of the Bible scriptures that is most significant to me. I remember as a teenager dealing with rejection and abandonment, growing tired of being bounced from one place to the next,  taken advantage of, and abused.

I felt hopelessly fearful and unworthy; to say I was worried and anxious is an understatement. I recall one day while drowning in deep sorrow and crying to God. The Holy Spirit prompted me to open my Bible, and somehow, I landed on  Philippians 4:6-7 now. I had read that passage before as it was highlighted; however, it felt like it was the first time those words spoke deep into my soul. They took me out of the dark and into the light.

I was revived by the truth. The realization that He was actually with me, saw what was going on deep inside, and showed up for me brought me tremendous comfort. From that day forward, that verse became my lifeline. I chose to listen and believe the truth instead of the lies of the enemy telling me that my circumstances would never change. I saturated my mind with the truth and allowed it to transform me by shifting my thinking.

When God allows us to experience difficulties, it's not to punish us or out of disappointment in us, but it's to teach us how to pray and trust him so that we can learn to go to the feet of the Father to pray and give thanks. Prayer is the remedy to our worries. How do I pray, you may ask? It is simply communicating with God and sharing your needs and problems with him. You can come to him anytime you need to, and he will never reject you. He cares deeply for you; you are of great importance to him. He wants to move you from a place of anxiety to peace.

Anxiety and fear tell a negative story; however, God's word brings positive encouragement and spiritual nourishment to the soul and the mind.  It refashions our thinking and behavior, changing us from within and reflecting spiritual and bodily vitality in Christ Jesus.

Anxiety is real. I want to encourage you to let the truth of God's words tell your story, let it be louder than your circumstances, your fears, and the lies of the enemy. Focus on God’s voice and allow it to have precedence over your life. Learn to change the course of your life by allowing God’s word to change your mind.
