Have you ever paused to reflect on what you spiritually nourish your mind with?

Let's talk about nutrition. We all know that a healthy diet is a diet that helps maintain and improve health; it helps with energy, growth, tissue repair, and more. I usually hear people say we are what we eat, meaning what you eat will impact your body physically, emotionally, and mentally. The proper nutrients will have a positive impact, and vice versa. Healthy dieting can influence the metabolism, sleep, and weight. Studies show how diet can help manage some of the most common diseases.

But what if we extend this concept to our spiritual well-being? Have you ever considered what you feed your mind? In the same manner that nutrition impacts our physical well-being, what we feed our minds impacts who we are. Whether we realize it or not, we feed our minds by what we allow, which unintentionally shapes our lives.  We feed our minds with imagery, music, news, ideas, feelings, or words. The enemy uses any means to deceive, sometimes those closest to you, your best friend, husband, wife, children, mom, dad, any means… the apostle Paul warns us not to be ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11 states, “In order for Satan not to outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” The adversary can put thoughts in our minds—deceptive beliefs designed to cause destruction. Thoughts like I’m dumb, nobody loves me, I'm a failure, I'm no good, I can't do this, etc., he puts it in the first person so we can believe and accept them. He also puts thoughts in our minds about other people; he highlights their faults to stir up discord, encouraging bitterness and unforgiveness. The Bible encourages us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “to demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

It’s crucial to take authority over these negative thoughts by declaring God’s word and affirming our true identity. We are not defined by the lies of the enemy but by the truth of God's word. We are loved, as Jeremiah 31:3 reminds us. We are victorious, as Romans 8:37 assures us. We are strong, as Psalm 18:25 declares. Let us hold onto these truths and believe what God says about us. Remember, the word of God is not just a defensive shield but an offensive weapon, Ephesians 6:17. You are loved, valued, and cherished by God.

Immerse yourself in the transformative power of the word. The word of God is not just a defensive shield but an offensive weapon guided by the Holy Spirit. If we allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse our souls, we can be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. So, which one will you let feed your mind, the lies of the enemy or the truth of God’s word? The more we allow the truth to penetrate our souls, the more transformed our lives will be. God's love for you is unwavering, and He desires you to make wise decisions, have a healthy mind, and feed it with His truth. The Holy Spirit guides and supports you in this transformation journey.
