A Lifetime of Seeking You Cont’d
Matthew 6:33 states, 'But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.' As believers, we are responsible for actively seeking God's kingdom and righteousness.
As a new believer, I often pondered: How do I actively seek God? What does it mean to seek his righteousness? What does this pursuit look like every day? Where do I begin? Where can I find Him? These were the questions I would often ask myself and others, and the answers I discovered were enlightening. Through prayer and Bible reading, I discovered that the more we sought God and got close to Him, the more he revealed himself to us. And as he revealed himself to me, he showed his purpose for humanity. God desires for his children to take part in building his Kingdom. That’s seeking his kingdom first and making God our priority. Everything else we are seeking after should come secondary to this command. We were created for a purpose.
God has great surprises for you. Matthew 7:7-12 says, "Ask, seek and knock when you ask, he answers, and tells you his plans for your life." You are created for a purpose, and that is to glorify God. We all have the same purpose and fulfill it through our calling. Ephesians 2:10 states, " For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."
Remember, you are not just a part of God’s plan; you are a unique and precious creation, His greatest masterpiece. He longs for you to know this, which is why He invites you to spend time with Him, foster intimacy, and receive His revelations. His guidance and revelations will always lead you to a place of hope and reassurance.
Jesus is always at work and eagerly awaits your intentional seeking. When you do, He will surprise you with His love, joy, and fulfillment beyond measure! I’d like you to join me next week to find out what might happen if you take the time to ask, seek, and knock.
